It appears that in the latest version of Knoppix, 3.4-2004-05-17, kismet will no longer work with a Cisco Aironet 350 wireless PCMCIA card. I still have a copy of Knoppix 3.3 lying around, which works just fine - but of course, I can't be satisfied with using the old version, I want to upgrade.
The new version of kismet is complaining about the card not supporting RFMON or the driver is not reporting the proper status of the card. I found a thread that discussed echo-ing some Mode parameters to the driver Config file for this card, but that did not work.
Are the wrong drivers included for the Cisco card in the new version of Knoppix? If so, why change to a different set of drivers that don't work (Knoppix 3.3 worked flawlessly)? Do I need to customize Knoppix now, just to use kismet with the Cisco card?
I am wondering if anyone else has tried this successfully? Have I just overlooked something obvious?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
