In looking for the 2.4.26 kernel that I could apt-get, I came across others with other processor names (specificly AMD). Previously, I had had a problem booting the stock 3.4 CD on an AMD machine (I had to turn off APCI in the BIOS).
??? If both kernels are present, is there a utility that could go into the boot sequence to determine the processor and boot up the correct kernel?
