Orinoco PCMCIA with ACER travelmate/Knoppix 3.4 problem

Hi,
I am new to Knoppix and having trouble getting my Orinoco Gold card working with Knoppix 3.4 on an ACER travelmate laptop. After knoppix boots, the only interface that is up is the local loopback interface, no eth0 or eth1. Any ideas?

what does dmesg shows?? i'm using travelmate 342T with Orinoco Gold..no probs..
