ethernet III

hi all,
I've a problem with my network card which is an 3com ethernet III.
Knoppix 3.1 detect it and I can use internet but with newest releases (like 3.3 or 3.4), it doesn't detect it.
ie:
Knoppix 3.1 ifconfig

I've installed the 3.4 on my hd cause I don't want to do lots of upgrades but I still want to use my netcard. What should I do ?

I try to install the driver (3c509.o) but I'm new to linux so I didn't succeed

ifconfig only tells you the current state of the interface. Did you try to bring it up manually?

sudo netcardconfig

Or also you can try:

sudo pump
