how to configure WLAN networkcard on Knopix

I've got a prism2 54G card installed on my laptop, I tried running Kismet from Airsnort but I can't seem to get it in "monitor mode". Wavelan is working fine, so I know the card is working.
Does anybody know about a patch or a way to configure it

I realy need my Airsnort!!!

if im not mistaken airsnort supports only true 'B' cards
