boot hangs when pcmcia card found smc-2532w-b

knoppix 3.3 and knoppix std0.1 will boot up just fine with out the wireless card in the comp, however if i pop it in and boot it hangs once it finds it, i know this because it displays the "prism 2" wireless card ect... if i boot up knoppix then pop the card in i get 1 BEEP and it is locked up... on a side note i get nothing on my laptop with any version of knoppix 3.4, i get the black screen after i hit return to boot...

compaq presario 2100
athlon 2800+M
256 megs. ram
30 gb hard drive
non dedicated radion graphix (64mb shared)

i am new to linux.. but i have figured out how to do most things on my desktop at home.. so if someone has this prob and a potential solution i will appreciate it.

never mind this... got it to boot.. but have other wireless card issues
