how to use usb instead of live cd

i found an article with a few cheats that i want to try but the directions were kind of vague. it said something about using a usb flash drive to run knoppix live and using another cheat to make knoppix run faster. if anyone has any info or a page that has good instructions for this i would be much obliged. thank you

to boot Knoppix faster from a usb dongle or from the hdd...
