I have a compaq M700 laptop with UHCI. According to lspci -vv the USB controller us Intel 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) prog-if 00 [UHCI]. When I plug USB devices, the Knoppix hdinstall doesn't detect anything and does not power up the deivce.

I put in /etc/fstab the none /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0 to get usbview to work. usbview detects only the UHCI hub with nothing else.

Any advice to get this USB bus to work on my Knoppix hdinstall is greatly appreciated.
