Can I update to 3.6?

Is there a way to update to 3.6 without downloading the image and reinstalling? If there is a way could someone let me know please.

If you hdinstall, you can use APT to update the recognized 3.4 packages, but there may be some features not recongnized by APT (e.g., I don't know if you can apt-get the new remastering scripts). APT is a Debian update and upgrade tool used by Knoppix as well. I think there are links to how-tos in the WIKI .

After doing all that how do I find the version or something telling me it's upgraded?
