Hey,
my PC has no major problems with Knoppix 3.6
kernel 2.4 but it fails with kernel 2.6, more
precisely the SCSI drives are not detected.
The successful driver for 2.4 is aic7xxx.o, for
2.6 it should be aic7xxx.ko. However, in expert
mode this last one is not listed, instead
aic7xxx_CAUTION.o
is listed (not found in the running install) and
does not help.
I do load aic7xxx.ko from a diskette without any
error message but it does not help, in the end the
SCSI drives are not there.
So how can I convince knoppix26 to make friends
with my SCSI drives?
Thanks a lot.
john
