formatting hardrive to get rid of xp and the install knoppix

what i want to do is wipe my hd clean then install knoppix. can i do this .ther is nothing i need transfered from xp to knoppix. Any thing i should look out for. i have the cd that i bought with knoppix on it.

if you are prepared to wipe HDD i can think of nothig much that can go wrong, just make two partitions (one ~512M SWAP and rest / (root partition)).
the things hat might be trouble are networkcards, sound... but if it works from live cd it should work in hdd install (maby some configuring but...)
