I like to remaster knoppix in order to get it working with the latest Informix 9.40.UC4

From Informix I know that I need a very new libpthread/libc library.

I tried to apt-get libc6-i686 and successfully installed it (http://packages.debian.org/testing/libs/libc6-i686)

but this will only work with kernel 2.6.x

Can anybody give me a hint how to get a newer libpthread into knoppix that can work with kernel 2.4 and 2.6 ???
