/var/log/messages

Hi there,

I've installed Knoppix on the hard drive and am doing
some kernel module programming.

But there's nothing in /var/log/messages.

I've started -
/etc/init.d/sysklogd start
/etc/init.d/klogd start

But still nothing from my module's printk messsages.

Erm, what have I missed out?

So if I type

logger -p kern.info Hello

at the consol nothing happens on knoppix, but
on my normal red hat machine this makes a message
appear in /var/log/messages

hmm
