knoppix hd diagnostics

i downloaded knoppix to be able to run the hard drive diagnostics that my friend had informed me about.

but now when i run knoppix i cant seem to find any diagnostics or anything. I need the diagnostics to see if my hd is failing i used powermax on my maxtor and it said that it is failing but i just want to guarantee this.

there is a "scandisk" called fsck

you can use it

fsck /dev/hd  (device that you want to scan)
