does knoppix support digital speakers?

I recently installed knoppix and cant seem to get my boston accoustic speakers to work. They are digital only speakers. My sound card is an SBLive and seems to be working fine.

any suggestions?

AFAIK, you'll need alsa or the utils that come with the driver from
http://opensource.creative.com to activate the digital out.
