Sony VAIO widescreen laptop display?

hi guys,

Just got my hands on a Sony Vaio with a screen that
is 1200x800. It looks like KNOPPIX uses 1024x768
in the center of the screen, which is a shame.

How do I go about making KNOPPIX use my whole
screen?

Don't have one but try some cheatcodes like screen=1200x800 http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes

But it came back with kernel version not found.

You need to use one from the kernels section first and add what you want, like for example:

knoppix screen=1200x800 lang=us vga=normal noscsi noacpi
