    crossover network

    Hey all,

    I have:

    1 laptop running Knoppix 3.6 (LiveCD)
    1 laptop running Windows 98 (first edition)
    1 crossover ethernet cable

    Is there anybody so kind as to give me a very elementary explanation on how to get to share files between the two laptops?

    Very elementary explanation: use static IP and put your two machines on the same net (eg 192.168.0.11 and 192.168.0.12).

    Oh, and plug that cable.
