Only need the kernel + bash

Hi everyone

is there any knoppix available that could allow me to boot from cd and then give me a bash interface.

I want it to contain only the kernel (ofcourse ) and bash so that i could run some scripts.

Um, just remove the KNOPPIX image(the big one) from the CD image and you would be forced to drop into the limited ash in the initrd.



You can easily build such a boot image using busybox, within the constrain of 1.44MB that can be burned on any CD and bootable.

Just curious, what do you want to do with it ?

You could use my script to build busybox against uClibc to optimise for size and then come up with your own linuxrc.

You could probably use mkinitrd to automate initrd creation with busybox.
