booting a new user instead of knoppix

hi,

in my remastering process, i need to boot a new user instead of the deafult knopix. i have changed init.d/xsession to user=newuser and have made the home directory during the chroot process as well as in the linux rc file as

mkdir -p /home/newuser.

But when KDE boots, it says about "No write access to home/newuser " and it stops.

How do i enable that?

Have you been tested with

chown -R newuser.users /home/newuser

???

yes i have tried that in linux rc file
before that i have create a group also as newuser.

chown -R newuser.newuser /home/newuser

but still it gives that flaw while KDE starts .
