cant use cable internet

cant seem to get my cable modem to work it is a terayon modem hooked through usb

How are you trying to connect ppoe or direct connection ,dhcp or static, more information is needed to solve the problem.

usb may be the problem. My Toshiba cable works with no problems through ethernet card but won't work on usb. usb is also slower.

What's exact model ? (TJxxxxxx)
If it's possible to use ethernet on this modem => !! DO IT !!
(an ethernet card costs about 30$ !!!!! )
quicker,more stable,gives a lot more options

I use the same type of cable modem,which is connected to thr Net using a ethernet card and it worked fist time.
