Samba, Webmin & Win98/WinXP Clients

Okay, I've looked around and I can't find a similar issue posted.

I decided to use Webmin instead of SWAT (could never get it to work right after reviewing 300 posts, Yahoo hits lists, Samba docs).

The shock is everything works except one thing--Win98 cannot copy files TO a Knoppix share.

Win98/WinXP clients can see the Knoppix share
Win98/WinXP clients can copy files FROM the Knoppix share
Knoppix can copy files to Win98/WinXP clients
Knoppix can see and copy files from Win98/WinXP shares

Webmin, like Swat, modifies the smb.conf file after making any changes.
Any ideas on how to get the Win98/WinXP clients to copy files to a Knoppix shared folder?

I actually forgot to mount the hdd_ as writeable (oops)
