sda and sdb are SATA disks using the Promise SATA controller (RAID is off) on the MB. These are detected on boot; all is well. sdc and sdd are SCSI using Adaptec 29160N controller. They are not detected on boot, although the correct dirver module, aic7xxx is loaded. (This is with the 2.6 kernel, of course.) parted does not see the disks. FWIW, sdc1 is VFAT, sdd1 is Ext3.
