it is actualy knoppix-kernel.patch, not knoppix.kernel.patch

It is located in /usr/src

I entered the command you gave me as follows

patch < /usr/src/knoppix-kernel.patch and recieved the following mesage: can't find file to patch at input line 3
Perhaps you should have used the -p or --strip option?
