ok i have installed knoppix onto my hd clean install theres only knoppix on the computer

when i boot up though the color goes to 8 so i bring up root console type in 'kxconfig' change it to 24 there it seems to always have 640X480 on there so i change that to 1024X768 i click quit then it goes to reboot computer reboots then comes back up its in 1024X768 with 24 color thats good then when i reboot again or turn it off and back on it goes to 1024X768 wit 8 for color ???

does anyone know how i can get it to stay on 24.
or does anyone know what to add to /etc/lilo.conf to make it stay 24
