Problem chrooting into bash

When I try to chroot into a restored knoppix to try and customize it, I get this error:

# chroot .
chroot: cannot run command `/bin/bash': No such file or directory
# ls -la ./bin/bash
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 634256 2004-12-18 19:53 ./bin/bash*

Anyone know why?

Firstly, you need to give the absolute path to the directory you're chrooting to.

Secondly, that error usually appears when you don't have a complete virtual filesystem. Here's a link to a proper debian filesystem, so you can get an idea of what your's should look like: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/u...3.0r0.ext2.bz2

make a directory called deb, decompress this, and mount it with the following command (you need to be root):

mount -t ext2 Debian-3.0r0.ext2 deb/ -o loop

My filesystem appears to be complete.

I recently added my Knoppix remaster into CVS I figure this has something to do with not being able to chroot in, but I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is the problem.
