    Knoppix 3.7 - WLAN mit RTL 8180 Karte

    Also, ich habe heute das neue Knoppix 3.7 auf meine Festplatte installiert! Jetzt möchte ich meine WLAN Karte (RTL 8180 von gericom) in meinem Gericom Blockbuster 2 Notebook zum laufen bringen! Ich habe die Treiber für linux heruntergeladen nur hab ich überhaupt keine ahnung was ich mit denen anfangen soll, es sind viele verschiedene files drinnen und die readme check ich schon gar net!

    heruntergeladen! Kann sich einer die mal anschauen und mir sagen wie ich vorgehen muss? ich hab schon unter google alles abgesucht und bin jetzt nur noch mehr verwirrt! +g+ Danke im Voraus für jede Hilfe!

    Hallo!

    Die Treiber sind für den 2.4er Kernel für Redhat kompiliert, also wirst du damit unter GNU Linux (Debian, Knoppix) keine großen Erfolgsaussichten haben.

    Probier dich mal mit dem ndiswrapper. Damit habe ich meine Gericom karte (Wahrscheinlich das gleiche Plundermodell) unter Suse zum laufen gebracht.
    Das einzige was du dazu noch brauchst sind die Windows Treiber. Der ndiswrapper wandelt dann die Windows Treiber in eine für Linux verstädnliche Sprache um.

    Unter Debian habe ich das noch nicht gemacht, steht aber gleich auch noch bevor sobald die Installations CD fertig ist.
    Ich habe nämlich das große Glück das ich gleich 2 von diesen tollen karten hier liegen habe, und die andere nun auf meinem alten Compaq Laptop unter Debian zum Einsatz kommt.
