I hope somebody can help me. I am very new to Linux and am trying to sort out an ftp server.

I used apt-get install proftpd to install proftpd and it all seems to have installed fine.

The problem I am having is that I can't seem to login to my Linux box from a windows machine using a web browser.

It just tells me that I can not access the folder or have permissions to do so and then that the server name or address can not be resolved.
