Crontab Not Working on 3.6

For some reason my crontab jobs arent running, I have no mail when i type mail, and cron is e-mails you when it finishes a job?


I have edited the crontab file in /etc/crontab

crontab isnt working beacuse its not running when i boot up? how do i automate this? i figured this would have been standard!
