lil help with sound pls

ive run sndconfig it doesnt reckonize my sound card tried alsa and all the other stuff ive read on here. what i ended up doin is running modconf loadin sound-oss, soundcore, and the sb{sound blaster compatablie) mod.

that makes my sound work. but its choppy and at time the sound stops and start.

any idea would be helpful

It might help to provide the output of lspci -v (what is your sound card?) and lsmod
Usually loading modules is done by modprobe (modulename)

Perhaps the sound is "choppy" because you don't want the oss module?
Have you done alsaconfig? Also you can test and try different sound devices
using kmenu>settings>control center>sound & multimedia>sound system.
