Boot from CD, KNOPPIX_V3.6-2004-08-16-EN

I have downloaded the following file KNOPPIX_V3.6-2004-08-16-EN, then burned it on a CD, but it does not boot from CD.Bay the way I see that the IE icon appears which says this file could be opened by IE which I am sure I have down by mistake.Now could you helped me.
HD:30 Gb,CPU 1.2 GZ, OS: XP, Internet DSL.

At the top of this page there is a link labeled documentation. Follow it. From there read the Downloading faq.

Important things to stress:

• Check the md5 sum. If you don't know what this is, learn, don't just skip over it.
  
  Don't just copy the iso to a disk, use the feature of your burning software to open and burn from an iso. If you end up with one iso file on a CD it will not boot.
  
  Do not use any feature of your burning software to make the CD bootable.
  
  Burn at a slow speed, such as 4x, or better yet burn on a CDRW until you get everything right.
  
  Use a 700 meg CD, not a 650 meg CD. And yes, it will fit just fine on a 700 meg CD.
