Did look in there - appears the firewall, GuardDog, uses the standard 'syslog' for output...
A nicely crafted CLI, helped a lot:
cat /var/log/syslog | grep ppp0
or for my LAN: ( using eth0 in place of the ppp0 )
I had looked in the help for the app, and then in its logs settings, and it actually stated it uses syslog...
