Need Tips on PMI install to a 4G iPod with stock FAT32format

Anyone ever do a Poor Man Install on a fourth generation iPod without changing the partitions on it?

I also seem to be running into some weird BIOS issues when booting with this iPod just connected to the machine. Other USB storage devices don't cause this problem. I was told by techsupport that this was a USB power problem but that has to be a load of hogwash because it works fine with iTunes and as an external HD when it is plugged in after the computer has booted.

I found that if I put my iPod into forced diskmode then it does not cause the wierd bios problems when i boot with it connected.

This is also the first time that knoppix mounted the iPod. YEA!

    Update:
Incidentaly the iPod Photo appears to have two partitions in a stock format. Knoppix does not seem to recognize the file system on sda1 but the partition on sda2 looks like the FAT32 partition when used in Windows.
