For some reason the hard disk of my Toshiba was not "seen" by Knoppix. Has been posted before.
This prevented me from installing it (full install and "Poor Man's Install" or PMI).
From this forum I got the tip to use an old (3.2) version. That worked (as PMI). But is's old ...

I kept trying newer releases, up to 3.7, hoping it would be fixed. It wasn't.
So I tried Kanotix X. (Sorry Klaus: just had to dump Windows: you made me an addict of Linux).
That adapted version of Knoppix works perfectly on the Tosh.

Might be a useful hint for other Tosh users ...
