Help - can't get gAIM to connect

**Renegade** · 03-01-2005, 01:25 PM

I'm using an ASUS X P4XP-X with SoundMAX Digital Audio card in it... Knoppix doesn't seem to be able to detect this... is there anything I can do?

Edit: Nvm... found the old thread on it. Prob solved. (stupid me)

But now i cannot connect gAIM. I keep getting "unable to connect to notification server".

I'm using Knoppix v3.7... I have no idea which version of gAIM it is though...
I managed to get a connection today (after about a week)... maybe the probelm is the hostel server? (i'm a university student-and for the record, the school network is full of worms...)
