need help with mounting smb when not root

I have two questions:

1) How do you write a script to mount for read and write an smb share after booting with the live CD like the KDE tool in smb:/ browser?

2) How to you change KDE start to display the home directory instead of the CD ROM index page?

Being new to knoppix, I spent hours trying to understand shell scripting and wonder if there should be a forum to help newbies with good windows experience to do simple things.
