I've always wanted to learn linux, so my friend said I should start with Knoppix. I'm downloading it right now, and I'm going to put it on a disc image and then burn it. I was just wondering if you could tell me some basic stuff about knoppix, like commands and things of that nature, or if you could direct me to a website. Thanks.

as for comands i will direct you to http://floppix.com/labs.html
a fairly good "crash course" in linux on the comandline.
As Knoppix is graphical (even windowslike), and fairly easy i think you will get on ok.
ask here if you want any advice on things you want to do, only not asking anything is considered stupid.
as for documentation on knoppix you can try the diferent topics under
    http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Main_Page
    especially
    http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Downloading_FAQ
there is described what to do with the downloaded file.
this is among the top ten of questions here
here are a link to how you do it with nero.

It is already a disk image (an ISO file). You just burn it as an image, there is no step of putting it to an image. As OErjan said, see the downloading faq found by following the documentation link near the top of this page. I suggest that you burn your first attempt to a 700 meg CDRW, that you always burn at a slow speed like 4x, and that you check that md5 sum before burning if you used the mirrors rather than Bittorrent.
