Changing the penguin...

ok, me spelling is off today... sick sick me...

ok, you know the penguin when you boot, i want to change it to, lets say... an evill looking banana... or a portrait of me... how can i do??

You're going to have to download the kernel sources, switch out the standard tux graphic with your own and compile your own kernel, you evil banana, you.

(The idea is sort of appeeeeeeling.)
