Small question.

I'm new to the whole linux thing, and plan on soon using knoppix. First I was wondering if it could find files on a NTFS hard-drive. Second, I was wondering if running it from a CD would leave any files on my HDD without me specifically saving them. Thanks for any help

Knoppix will typically put an icon for your NTFS partition on its KDE desktop; from there you can mount it, and view all the files on your NTFS hard drive. (Short answer = Yes)

No, Knoppix doesn't leave anything behind unless you specifically tell it to. (Especially on NTFS.)

it feels alot better posting in knoppix...

just remember, linux can find nearly (to me knowledge), of all the file types... aka NTFS, ext2, Fat32 etc...

like what eco2geek said, just mount the drives....

Alright, I can reead files from my NTFS drives, but they are wite-protected from Knoppix. Any way i could change that?

EDIT:also, I tried changing permissions in file/folder properties, but it won't let me
