    Probably very, very basic!

    hello all,

i give you all license to laugh at this request, but i've had no experience with linux / knoppix so i havent a clue what im doing!

i have downloaded knoppix 3.8.1 (english version) from the ftp site and burnt the iso file to a bootable cd. I have set my boot configuration to cd-rom drive first, inserted the bootable CD, started the system (toshiba Satellite Pro laptop) and the system then begins to boot a Caldera DR-DOS. Eventually settling down at a DR-DOS command prompt. now im stuffed! all i can manage to do is start an exe file called WWBMU, which then takes me to a BIOS looking screen in german!

(cant speak german either so now having to use http://www.freetranslation.com/ !!!)

How do i get the full GUI knoppix to run on this system?? have i burnt the wrong file? are there other files i need to burn?

    Please, please help!!

Massive thanks in advance for any kind soul who replys to this!!
