To make the Windows to Knoppix transition easier, get the appropriate image from the following link and set it as the windows wallpaper. Once they get used to it, then you can boot them into knoppix and they would barely know the difference. It just wouldn't crash as much and might seem faster overall.

I got yelled at for running Knoppix when someone saw the Knoppix backround on my windows machine. They finally realized it was still windows, but it looked better!
