How do I make windows 2k browse the linux machine default june 6th version 3.2 cd setup
knoppix booted pc appears to be called knoppix

Unfortunatly not.
I am trying to view the remote linux pc across the network and share / access it's hard drives, from a win 2k pc

Different ways possible :
1)Take linux in remote control

use ssh(command line):
on serverside (linux) do
set knoppix password ( sudo passwd knoppix )
start ssh server ( /etc/init.d/ssh start )
on clientside (windoze) do
use putty on W2K client to conect remotely

use vnc(GUI):
on serverside (linux) do
set knoppix password ( sudo passwd knoppix )
start vnc server ( vncserver )
on clientside (windoze) do
start vnc client to connect and have graphical interface of linux on your windoze pc


or

2)Browse trough linux from W2K

Dear ktheking,
I found very interesting the "vnc way" to connect (using local network) knoppix box with a m$ box.
Bacause I am not very experienced on subject, is it possible to guide me in a step by step manner how can do that???
Please include the steps that required to configure my m$ box and knoppix box too.

For your info the required programs (VNC Viewer + Server) it is already installed at m$ box but not configured.
