How to adjust boot list in the BIOS Setup

The KNOPPIX/index_en.html file on my Knoppix disc contains the following:

How do I run KNOPPIX?

In order to start the CD, first adjust the boot list in the BIOS Setup of your computer to boot from CD (before the hard drive). Put the CD in and restart the computer.

Alas, I've no notion of how to "adjust the boot list in the BIOS Setup." My system currently operates under Windows XP Pro. With thanks in advance for edification, I am,
