reinstall knoppix to existing partition

i made the mistake of downloading gnome using synaptic, and subsequently kde was lost. i want to do the install again, but leave all of the partitions the same. newbie here, so bear with me. what do i do at startup to install knoppix to the existing linux partition? someone else did the original install for me.

Just [quit] from cfdisk and choose whatever partitions you want for your swap and root.
