ntfs_mount failed:input/output error

ok im trying to install knoppix to my hdd im using this guide http://irongeek.com/i.php?page=videos/knoppix1 im at the part where he delets his windows partition but i want to resize my partition instead of removing it and when i configure it the way i want it gives me an error of input/output error please tell me waht to do =(

Is the harddrive partition that Windows is on mounted before you try? You would most likley want it to be unmounted.

i ended up erasing windows and resintalling how can i move files between partitions?

Mount them and use the cp or mv commands, or just use the GUI.
