Slow Knoppix

Knoppix runs very slow on my machine ( Pentium II 560 Mhz 7Gb inbuild graphic chip 129 Mb Ram) when i run several applications at the same time. I have 500 Mb free space on the HDD

Which version of Knoppix? Newer need more and more memory and other things if you run KDE. Try Fluxbox or something like that.

slow knoppix for me too. i'm trying to use knoppix v3.4 on a Compaq machine, pentium(r) with 64MB RAM (has Windows95 installed in it).
also during boot, it asked if i wanted to create a SWAP file; i choose 100 from the given 60-128 size.
what can i do to make knoppix load faster?
