Hi,

I know it's not that big of a deal, but in my Knoppix 3.9 install, some things, like changing the background, take a really long time to load. Or opening my home directory in Konqueror. And no, it's not my computer's speed cuz here's the specs:

P4 2.4 Ghz, 1 Gig RAM, ATI Radeon 256 Meg, so on and so forth.

Is there any magical trick up someone's sleeves that they have?
