linux wireless

alright, i'm brand new to linux. and i need my wireless card configured. i have loaded the windows driver with the nswrapper(or what ever that program is) and now i need to know what to do next. i have a linksys wirless pci 54g, w/ speed booster. model # is WMP54GS.

any help at all would be greatly apprechiated(i know i spelled that wrong).

Wireless card/harware support under Linux is sometimes problematic. Wireless hardware vendors frequently do not either write drivers for Linux or do not give out much HW info about their products so that other open source programmers could write drivers. This makes using wireless under linux more difficult than it needs to be. One of these companies is Broadcom.

According to google.com search, the card you have uses a Broadcom chipset. A further google.com search indicates that you have to use a helper program called Ndiswrapper which will load the driver.

Hopefully someone else will be able to help you further since I don't have any wireless HW or haven't used wireless HW in over 3 years.
