how do i Build Knoppix From Zero ?

hi, i would like to know any info on building a knoppix like cd from zero.
iam doing a automatic cd maker,that given a profile(packages collections) and other configurations that the user inputs(root pass, nis, network ,etc..) makes a iso ready to use.
For this,the easier way was not to remaster knoppix but rather start from a minimal base (a base instalation +X +kdebase) and install the rest on top.
or use debootstrap plus the rest of the packages.
But i don't have any info on what Packages are MANDATORY from KNOPPIX deb repository to turn this base in a knoppix like (auto config hardware )
If anyone knows any webpage, or other recourse, that have any info on building knoppix like this ,please let me know.

You might want to try debian from scratch and dfsbuild.

thx but i think i can do what is described on that page there with debootstrap and adding a kernel to it it should boot , the problem is that i dunno what packages from knoppix debian repository are mandatory , well i could go and install them all. thx anyway

i guess you can just "apt-get"ing all knoppix package.
Then remove later when you think if any not needed.
