customizing a live cd

hey everyone i have about 5 live cd's and i am very new to it. but i was wondering is there anyway that i can download wallpaper on windows and add it somewhere in the live cd so that it can be an option as a wallpaper. also is there and way to save changes that you have made in preferences so that when you boot the disk up the next time the changes willl still be there? t5hanks

That's where I started, and it's also very helpful to have an emulator installed on your system (e.g., qemu, VMWare Workstation) to test the ISO files before you burn CDs.

I think he is looking for a persistant home as opposed to remastering. Going through the remastering process to only add a wallpaper is overkill.
