using knoppix3.2 with erethra net card smart link knoppix finds card asks forname and password but does not allow connection although modem is functioning because I can go to windows and connect but cannot get knoppix to allow web browsing keeps telling me www. google.com is an incorrect address or knoppix.com is incorrect address can even http:www. knoppix.com is incorrect address although under windows these are all correct addresses.please advise thank you respectfully,Hazen meek

It seems like you do not have access to a nameserver. How are you running from a CD or HD, can you ping an address out side the computer to confirm a connection. What does the output of lsmod tell you is the module for the card there and used. If you are running from a HD install and choose dhcp to connect check in /etc/network/interfaces for the line iface eth0 inet dhcp. Have you tried netcardconfig to reconfigure the network connection?
